Congratulations to Yakov Feygin who has been hired as the new Associate Director of the Program on the Future of Captialism at the Berggruen Institute in Los Angeles! Yakov successfully defended his dissertation, "Reforming the Cold War State: Economic Thought, Internationalization, and the Politics of Soviet Reform, 1955-1985," in 2017. At Berggruen, Yakov will apply the knowledge he gained as an economic historian to design the program's initiatives on rethinking how states and markets interact in globalized financial capitalism to address issues of distribution and ecological degradation.
