Kathryn Taylor, who received her PhD in our department in 2017, has been awarded a two-year post-doctoral fellowship by the Humanities Institute at Penn State. The fellowship is part of the Institute’s “Humanities in the World” initiative, which aims to advance the contemporary social importance of work in the humanities. Kathryn’s dissertation was entitled “Orbis and Urbis: Ethnographic Thought in Early Modern Venice”; her committee consisted of Ann Moyer (chair), Margo Todd, and E. Ann Matter (Religious Studies).
