Mukaram Hhana has been chosen for the Mendenhall Postdoctoral Fellowship at Smith College, a 2-year appointment connected to both the History Department and the Program in Middle East Studies. Mukaram’s dissertation, which she is scheduled to defend later this month, is entitled "Commandeering Empires: Egypt, Tripoli, and Tunis in the Age of Revolution, 1774-1835.” Her committee consists of Eve Troutt Powell (chair), Firoozeh Kashani-Sabet, Peter Holquist, and Alan Mikhail (Yale).
