Kelsey Norris awarded the Robert C. Tucker/Stephen F. Cohen Dissertation Prize

Kelsey Norris, who received her Ph.D. in our department this past summer, has been awarded the annual Robert C. Tucker/Stephen F. Cohen Dissertation Prize by the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) for outstanding English-language doctoral dissertation in Soviet or Post-Soviet politics and history. The prize comes with funding to help the author turn the dissertation into a book.

Kelsey’s dissertation, "The Ties that Bind: World War II-Era Population Displacement and the Politics of Family Reunification in the USSR, 1941–1975," was supervised by Ben Nathans (chair), Peter Holquist, and Amy Offner.
