2024-25 History Department Teaching Awards Announced

Portraits of Sarah Gronningsater and Suyoung Kim

Every year, the student-run History Undergraduate Advisory Board selects the winners of the History Department's annual Teaching Awards, based on nominations from History Majors and Minors.

The History Department is delighted to announce this year's recipients:

The History Undergraduate Advisory Board created the Richard S. Dunn Award for Distinguished Teaching in 1997 “to recognize the faculty member who has shown the most active commitment to the department’s undergraduates.”  This year, the Richard S. Dunn Award goes to Professor Sarah Gronningsater.

The Teaching Assistant of the Year Award is given annually to "the teaching assistant who best demonstrates a genuine commitment to the well-being of the department’s undergraduate community."  The 2024-25 TA of the Year is History Ph.D. candidate Suyoung Kim.

Congratulations to "Professor G" and Suyoung! Both will be honored in person at the History Department Graduation Celebration on May 18.
