On the occasion of the 65th Birthday of Rolf Kiessling, who teaches Swabian and Bavarian history in Augsburg, colleagues, friends and students have devoted to it in this volume. The contributions build on the research projects that are in the country's history in the center of Augsburg, they touch both important areas of current Medieval and Early Modern Studies. Be handled by the individual authors discourse about the confessionalization or piety history, proto-industrialization, urbanization at the level of small towns and markets, rural society and the Jewish history. Again and again, there are aspects of the history of the city of Augsburg in the center. At the same time Rolf Kiessling contributions to the current methodological debates in the country's history will be taken.
